Contract Type: Variable Hours, Fixed Term for 1 yearLocation: Durham International Study Centre, Stockton-on-Tees (On-Site)Salary: up to £33.57/hourThe purpose of the role is to deliver highly effective modules at International Foundation Year (Pre Undergraduate, level 3 and Pre masters, level 6), in the Centre. We are looking for candidates with a range of experience in delivering Psychology teaching.ABOUT THE ROLE \n

- Delivering modules (face-to-face) to international students studying on programmes offered by the Centre and assisting with the development of modules. \n
- Developing modules from module specifications. This will include schemes of learning along with appropriate development of learning resources. \n
- Preparing module examinations and other forms of formative and summative assessment, marking and providing feedback to students. \n
- Assisting with the development and maintenance of the Centre’s virtual learning environment (VLE). Facilitating student access to same. \n
- Providing input for related modules to the annual review and reporting process. \n
- Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date record of student attendance and performance. \n
- Providing, when/if required, academic learning support to a small number of students. \n
- Participating in regular meetings with teaching and support staff. \n
- Supporting various student engagement activities around the ISC. \n
- Attending lectures given by Durham University to support student progression. \n
- Arranging and supporting visits to places of interest linked to subject. \n
- \n
- A recognised teaching qualification (desirable) \n
- A Master’s degree or equivalent in a related subject area \n
- Fluent spoken and written English \n
- Teaching experience delivering Psychology programmes within a Further Education or Higher Education context \n
- Experience of working with international students face to face (Desirable) \n
- Competence in teaching and administrative IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail, etc) \n
- A student-centred approach \n
- Strong record-keeping skills \n
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills \n
- Flexibility \n
- Ability to work under pressure to deadlines \n
