Role: Student Support Officer
\nLocation: Ilford, Greater London
\nHours: Full and Part Time Considered
\nSalary: £30,000 - £35,000
\nOur client is seeking to appoint a Student Welfare Officer to its existing faculty team
\nOverview for the Student Welfare Officer:
\n-provide welfare and pastoral support to students
\n-support students with disabilities and long term health conditions
\n-provide initial well-being assessments
\n-identify safeguarding concerns and refer appropriately
\n-work proactively with students at risk of withdrawal
\n-manage a caseload of student welfare cases
\n-develop and deliver workshops and presentations
\n-maintain accurate student welfare records
\nPersonal requirements for the Student Welfare Officer:
\n-Degree in Health, Psychology, Counselling or similar
\n-Diploma in Counselling, Student Welfare or similar
\n-at least two years in a student support role
\n-experience gained in further education
\n-knowledge of safeguarding legislation
\n-superb communication skills
\n-well organised
\n-knowledge of mental health issues affecting students in higher education
