\nAre you a passionate Design & Technology Teacher looking for a role where you can make a real difference?
\nWe are currently recruiting for a full-time Design Technology Teacher to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) setting from September. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and resilient teacher who enjoys practical learning and wants to support young people who may have experienced barriers within mainstream education.
\nThe role will initially begin through agency, with a view to becoming a permanent position for the right candidate.
\nThe setting supports pupils with SEMH needs and provides a nurturing, structured environment where relationships, confidence-building and engagement are at the heart of learning.
The Role\nYou will be responsible for delivering engaging Design & Technology lessons, helping students develop practical skills, creativity and confidence through hands-on learning.
\nYou will:
\n- \n
- Teach Design & Technology across KS3/KS4 (experience with practical subjects such as Construction, Product Design, Resistant Materials or similar is desirable) \n
- Plan and deliver accessible, engaging lessons tailored to individual needs \n
- Build positive relationships with pupils and support their emotional and academic development \n
- Create a safe, inclusive and encouraging workshop environment \n
- Work collaboratively with support staff and wider pastoral teams \n
We are looking for someone who:
\n- \n
- Has experience teaching Design & Technology (QTS preferred, but experienced instructors/teachers may be considered) \n
- Has experience working with SEMH, SEND, PRU or challenging behaviour settings (desirable) \n
- Is patient, adaptable and passionate about helping young people succeed \n
- Can engage pupils through practical, creative learning \n
- Has strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills \n
