Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

    \n
  • \n

    Estimating & Quotation Management:

    \n
      \n
    • Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to fully understand project requirements.
    • \n
    • Prepare accurate cost estimates for Active fire protection solutions, including Emergency Lighting and security systems.
    • \n
    • Issue quotations within agreed timeframes and liaise with suppliers for up-to-date material costs and product information.
    • \n
    • Identify labour, materials, subcontractor requirements, and project-specific risks.
    • \n

    Client & Stakeholder Communication:

    \n
      \n
    • Handle incoming enquiries from clients, contractors, and internal teams.
    • \n
    • Provide clarification, technical information, and pricing breakdowns as needed.
    • \n
    • Maintain strong professional relationships to support repeat business and customer satisfaction.
    • \n

    Documentation & Compliance:

    \n
      \n
    • Ensure all estimates meet relevant standards, regulations, and fire compliance requirements.
    • \n
    • Maintain detailed records of tender documents, revisions, and client communications.
    • \n
    • Support contract handovers by providing accurate information to the delivery/operations team.
    • \n

    Commercial Awareness:

    \n
      \n
    • Assess project profitability and adjust pricing strategies where appropriate.
    • \n
    • Highlight value-engineering opportunities and propose cost-effective solutions.
    • \n
    • Track quote conversions and assist with forecasting future workload.
    • \n
  • \n

Required Skills & Qualifications:

\n
    \n
  • \n

    Essential:

    \n
      \n
    • Experience in an estimating role, preferably within Active fire protection.
    • \n
    • Strong understanding of construction drawings, plans, and technical documentation.
    • \n
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
    • \n
    • Excellent numeracy, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
    • \n
    • Ability to manage multiple enquiries simultaneously and prioritise workload.
    • \n
  • \n
  • \n

    Desirable:

    \n
      \n
    • Knowledge of Active fire protection products and legislation.
    • \n
    • Experience with security systems.
    • \n
    • Experience using estimating software or CRM systems.
    • \n
    • Understanding of building regulations and industry standards (e.g., BS, EN standards).
    • \n
