Technical Project Manager – Capital Projects (Mechanical)
\nSurrey | 6 months (temp to perm) | £33.52 per hour
\n\nA senior opportunity has arisen for an experienced M&E Technical Project Manager to join a large NHS organisation’s Capital Projects Team. This role will play a key part in delivering a complex and high-value portfolio of estate developments.
\nThe Role
\nYou will lead the delivery of major capital schemes from inception through to completion, acting as a technical expert and supporting the wider capital programme.
\nKey responsibilities include:

- Leading delivery of capital projects including new build, refurbishment, and backlog maintenance schemes \n
- Managing projects ranging from small works to multi-million-pound developments \n
- Providing technical expertise across disciplines \n
- Managing consultants, contractors, and procurement processes in line with frameworks and governance \n
- Overseeing budgets, business cases, and financial management of schemes \n
- Supporting strategic estate planning and capital programme delivery \n
- Leading stakeholder engagement across clinical, operational, and external partners \n
About You
\nWe are seeking a technically strong and experienced project professional with leadership capability.
\nEssential:
\n- \n
- Degree (or equivalent) in construction, engineering, surveying, or related discipline \n
- Significant experience managing complex capital projects \n
- Strong commercial and budget management skills \n
- Experience within healthcare environments (knowledge of HTMs / HBNs) \n
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills \n
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously \n
Desirable:
\n- \n
- Professional membership (e.g. RICS, CIOB, RIBA) \n
- Knowledge of ProCure22 or similar frameworks \n
- Experience managing or mentoring junior staff \n
