Technical Architect

A leading global insurance organisation, is seeking an experienced Technical Architect with strong IBM i / AS400 (iSeries) expertise to join their Application Solutions team.This role will play a key part in a high-profile programme to migrate a large estate of business-critical IBM i applications between data centres.Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical architecture and design of IBM i / AS400 application migration initiatives.
\n
• Define migration and transition strategies for business-critical applications moving between data centres.
\n
• Assess application dependencies, integrations, interfaces, and infrastructure requirements.
\n
• Produce solution designs, architecture documentation, and migration roadmaps.
\n
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and project teams to ensure successful delivery.
\n
• Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the migration lifecycle.
\n
• Support wider application modernisation and transformation initiatives.
\n
• Provide technical leadership and architecture governance across the programme.
\n

Experience Required

\n
• Proven experience as a Technical Architect, Solution Architect, or Application Architect.
\n
• Strong background within AS400 / iSeries environments.
\n
• Experience delivering data centre, hosting, or large-scale application migration programmes.
\n
• Strong understanding of complex application landscapes and business-critical systems.
\n
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
\n
• Experience within the insurance sector (desirable)
\n
• Knowledge of the Genius insurance platform (desirable)
