Location: East Midlands Contract: Interim Assignment (End of August Start – October/November 2026 end)Hours: Full-time (flexibility available for the right candidate)

We are seeking an experienced Head of department - Construction to provide interim leadership across a Construction provision during a key period of the academic year.

This is an exciting opportunity for a high-performing Further Education leader who can confidently lead a department, manage curriculum delivery, and support teams across a range of Construction disciplines.

Key Areas of Responsibility

You will provide operational and curriculum leadership across areas including:

• Construction
\n
• Multi-Trade
\n
• Brickwork
\n
• Painting & Decorating
\n
• Plumbing
\n
• Gas
\n
• Other related Construction curriculum areas
\n

About You

We are looking for an individual who:

\n
• Has substantial experience in Further Education management
\n
• Has successfully led Construction or vocational curriculum departments
\n
• Can effectively manage curriculum quality, performance and delivery
\n
• Is an experienced people manager with the ability to motivate and support staff teams
\n
• Understands funding, curriculum planning and learner outcomes within FE
\n
• Can quickly build relationships and provide stability during a transitional period
\n
