Maintenance Technician, Central London
\nTemporary, Full Time and Part time opportunities, £16.50ph + hol pay
\nWe are looking for a proactive multi skilled Maintenance Operative for student accommodation. In this static role, you will play a key part in delivering an outstanding living experience by ensuring all maintenance and repair requests within the property are handled efficiently and effectively.
\nThis is a hands-on position where no two days are the same—perfect for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
\nDuties
\n- \n
- Deliver excellent customer service, working closely with colleagues and management. \n
- Carry out reactive and preventative maintenance across the property. \n
- Coordinate and monitor onsite contractors to ensure work is completed to a high standard. \n
- Complete planned maintenance tasks, including: \n
- Fire alarm and emergency lighting testing \n
- Fire extinguisher checks \n
- Water hygiene tasks (flushing & temperature monitoring) \n
- Shower head descaling \n
- Health & safety inspections \n
- Conduct regular building patrols to identify maintenance issues and safety risks. \n
- Perform scheduled flat inspections and promptly resolve any issues identified. \n
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and log all issues within the system. \n
- Ensure compliance documentation is up to date (gas safety, PAT testing, wiring certification, etc.). \n
- Follow all health & safety procedures, including risk assessments and permit-to-work systems. \n
- Engage professionally with residents, showing empathy and understanding. \n
- Report any welfare concerns immediately to management. \n
- Support the wider team with reception/admin duties when required. \n

What We’re Looking For
\n- \n
- Experience in general maintenance, including plumbing and/or electrical work. \n
- A reliable and self-motivated individual who takes ownership of their work. \n
- Strong understanding of health & safety legislation. \n
- Ability to prioritise workload and work independently as well as part of a team. \n
- A positive, customer-first attitude, with the ability to build rapport with residents. \n
