Quantity Surveyor - Major Infrastructure | Central Birmingham £45,000-£60,000 + Company car + Package Hybrid WorkingA fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering a high-profile, major infrastructure project in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a large, complex civil engineering scheme, working within an experienced and supportive commercial team for one of the UK's leading main contractors.The role offers clear career progression, hybrid working, a healthy work-life balance, and the chance to develop your skills on one of the UK's most significant infrastructure programmes.The Role As a Quantity Surveyor, you will quickly become an integral part of the commercial management team and responsible for a portfolio of subcontract packages, taking them from procurement to final accounts. You'll work closely with senior commercial staff while gaining exposure to all aspects of project delivery.Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing project costs to ensure delivery within budget
  • \n
  • Support the preparation of cost reports, forecasts, and budget updates
  • \n
  • Administer contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions
  • \n
  • Assist with the management of variations and change control processes
  • \n
  • Support subcontract procurement, including tendering and evaluation
  • \n
  • Prepare and assist with interim valuations and applications for payment
  • \n
  • Identify and escalate commercial risks and opportunities
  • \n
  • Liaise with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders
  • \n
  • Contribute to value engineering initiatives
  • \n
  • Provide commercial support to the wider project team
  • \n

Requirements

\n
    \n
  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor within infrastructure, civil engineering, or utilities
  • \n
  • Familiarity with the NEC form of contract
  • \n
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • \n
  • Good communication and organisational abilities
  • \n
  • Able to commute to Central Birmingham (minimum expectation 3 days per week)
  • \n

  • £40,000 to £60,000 basic salary
