Mobile Plant Fitter Location: On-site Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Salary: £18.00 - £23.00 per hour (dependent on experience) Hours: 7:00am - 5:00pm, 5 days per week (some weekend working required for servicing) About the Role We are looking for an experienced Mobile plant fitter to join our team on a permanent basis. This is a site-based role where you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a fleet of heavy mobile plant. Although the equipment is mobile, the role is based at a single site – you will not be travelling between customer locations. Key Responsibilities * Service, maintain and repair a wide range of heavy mobile plant. * Carry out planned preventative maintenance and routine servicing. * Diagnose and repair engine faults using manufacturer diagnostic software. * Identify and repair hydraulic faults and leaks. * Repair and overhaul hydraulic rams and axles. * Carry out welding and fabrication repairs where required. * Ensure all machinery is maintained to a high standard and returned to service safely. * Complete servicing during scheduled weekday and occasional weekend maintenance periods. Plant You'll Be Working On * Loading Shovels * 360 Material Handlers / Grabs * Forklift Trucks (FLT) * Telehandlers * Other heavy mobile plant What We're Looking For Please note: This role is not suitable for car mechanics. We are specifically looking for candidates with proven experience working on heavy mobile plant. The ideal candidate will have: * Previous experience as a Mobile Plant Fitter, Heavy Plant Engineer or Plant Mechanic. * Strong diagnostic skills using electronic diagnostic software. * Experience working on loading shovels, forklift trucks, telehandlers, 360 grabs and similar heavy plant. * Excellent knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions and axles. * Welding and fabrication experience. * The ability to diagnose faults efficiently and carry out repairs independently. * A proactive attitude and strong problem-solving skills.
