Freelance Quantity Surveyor Required – Civils / Infrastructure Location: Hull or Grimsby area Contract: Freelance Duration: Ongoing / project-based Start: 27/7/26 Rate: £400-£500 per day Setting Out Solutions Group are currently looking for an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to support a civil engineering contractor on a live infrastructure package. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in earthworks, piling, roads, drainage and general civil engineering, with the ability to manage commercial duties independently on a busy site. Duties will include: * Managing subcontractor accounts from procurement through to final account * Preparing and submitting applications for payment * Measuring works and producing accurate valuations * Managing variations, change control and commercial records * Supporting CVRs, cost reporting and forecasting * Liaising with site teams, clients, subcontractors and senior commercial staff * Ensuring commercial processes are followed across the project Experience required: * Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering * Strong background in earthworks, piling and roads * Comfortable working on live infrastructure or groundworks projects * Able to work independently and support project delivery * Good understanding of subcontractor management, valuations and variations * Strong communication and commercial awareness This is a good opportunity for a freelance QS with solid civils experience to join a busy contractor with ongoing work in the region.
