Job Description
Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
\nWorking Pattern: Tuesday & WednesdayHours: 8:30am – 4:00pm (1-hour lunch break)
\nWe are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support teaching and learning across the school for two days per week.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Deliver planned learning activities to individuals, small groups, and whole classes. \n
- Provide high-quality classroom cover in the absence of the class teacher. \n
- Support pupils of varying abilities to access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals. \n
- Assist teachers in the planning, preparation, and delivery of lessons. \n
- Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress, providing feedback where appropriate. \n
- Deliver targeted interventions to support pupil attainment and development. \n
- Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. \n
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, support staff, and school leaders. \n
Essential Requirements
\n- \n
- HLTA qualification or significant experience working at HLTA level. \n
- Experience supporting teaching and learning within a primary school setting. \n
- Confidence in leading whole-class activities and managing classroom behaviour independently. \n
- Strong literacy, numeracy, and communication skills. \n
- Ability to work using initiative and adapt to the needs of different classes and pupils. \n
- Professional, reliable, and flexible approach. \n
