Network Engineer

Reed Technology is partnering with a technology company based in Aberdeen to recruit a Network Engineer.

In this role, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organisations network infrastructure and providing support for server environments, user management, and IT systems when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and implement network solutions for LAN, WAN, VPN and wireless environments,
\n
• Configure routers, switches, firewalls and access points.
\n
• Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues across several platforms and environments.
\n
• Reinforce network security best practices (firewall rules, VLAN segmentation, intrusion detection, patch management, etc.).
\n
• Keep accurate network diagrams, IP inventories and configuration records.
\n
• Work closely with vendors to manage and optimize network performance.
\n
• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements.
\n
• Assist in the administration, maintenance, and support of servers and related infrastructure.
\n

Requirements

\n
• Proven experience designing, redesigning, and implementing enterprise network infrastructure, with the ability to assess existing environments and recommend improvements.
\n
• Strong hands-on networking expertise across LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless networks, routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
\n
• Experience delivering network upgrade projects, including the configuration and deployment of core switching infrastructure (Dell switch experience advantageous).
\n
• Strong troubleshooting and network security skills, including firewall management, VLAN segmentation, intrusion detection, and patch management.
\n
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
\n
• Experience supporting server environments and wider IT infrastructure.
\n
