Duties

  • Plan, organise, and deliver engaging activities that promote early learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
  • \n
  • Supervise and support children’s daily routines, including play, meals, rest, and hygiene
  • \n
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for children at all times
  • \n
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication
  • \n
  • Monitor and record children's progress, behaviour, and developmental milestones
  • \n
  • Lead and mentor junior staff members, ensuring adherence to nursery policies and procedures
  • \n
  • Collaborate with team members to develop personalised care plans for individual children
  • \n
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the nursery setting
  • \n
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as planning documentation and parent communication
  • \n

Requirements

  • recognised qualification in Childcare or Early Childhood Education (e.g., Level 3 NVQ or equivalent)
  • \n
  • Proven experience working within a nursery or childcare environment
  • \n
  • Strong management and leadership skills to guide a team effectively
  • \n
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • \n
  • Genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development
  • \n
  • Knowledge of current childcare legislation and best practices
  • \n
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team whilst demonstrating initiative
  • \n
  • A caring attitude combined with organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities effectively
  • \n
