\nLocation: Calne Salary: £90 - £105 per day (dependent on experience) Job Type: Full-time Hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm Start Date: ASAP

\nA welcoming and inclusive primary school in Calne is seeking a dedicated Primary Mental Health Assistant to join their supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about children's wellbeing who wants to gain hands-on experience supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, autism, and additional learning needs.
\nEvery day is different, but your support will help children feel safe, confident, and ready to learn.
\nKey responsibilities include:

- Providing 1:1 support to help pupils regulate emotions and engage in learning \n
- Supporting children with SEMH needs, autism, and additional needs \n
- Delivering small group activities focused on confidence, resilience, and social skills \n
- Using positive behaviour strategies to support emotional regulation \n
- Building strong relationships with pupils to help them feel secure and understood \n
- Working alongside teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to support individual needs \n
What We're Looking For:

- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach \n
- A genuine interest in children's mental health and development \n
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships \n
- Confidence supporting children with SEN, SEMH, or behavioural needs \n
- Previous experience working with children or vulnerable individuals is desirable but not essential \n
Ideal Backgrounds (Not Essential)

- Psychology or related degree \n
- Youth work, care, or support work experience \n
- Experience in SEN settings, PRUs, or alternative provision \n
- Team Teach, MAPA, or CPI training \n
