Contract: Long-term, full-time (potentially until funding ceases or pupil leaves the school)

Pay: £15 per hour

\n

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm (30-minute unpaid break)

\n

We are currently working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in the Knutsford area who are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child in Year 4.

\n

This is a long-term opportunity, ideal for someone with experience supporting children with complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and a passion for making a meaningful difference.

Key Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with complex SEND
  • \n
  • Support communication through Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS)
  • \n
  • Work closely with teaching staff and SEN professionals
  • \n
  • Support the child in a dedicated learning space, often outside the main classroom
  • \n
  • Assist with personal care, including nappy changing
  • \n
About the Child\n

  • Diagnosed with Autism and has complex additional needs
  • \n
  • Non-verbal, communicates using PECS
  • \n
  • Requires consistent, patient, and nurturing support
  • \n
  • Spends a significant portion of the day in a structured, individual environment
  • \n
Candidate Requirements\n
    \n
  • Experience working with children with Autism and complex SEND
  • \n
  • Understanding or experience of PECS (preferred)
  • \n
  • Comfortable providing personal care (This is a MUST as the child with require changing)
  • \n
  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • \n
  • Ability to build strong, trusting relationships
  • \n
