Fitter's Mate
Job Description
Our client is looking for a Fitter's Mate to assist with the installation of specialist ventilation and ductwork systems across the UK.
\nIf you have some experience installing ductwork systems and are happy working away during the week, we'd like to hear from you.

- Full Time, Permanent, 37.5 hours per week + overtime \n
- £25,000 per year, plus overtime paid at 1.5x hourly rate \n
- 26 days' holiday, pension, PPE provided \n

\nOur client is a well-established UK specialist in the design, manufacture, installation and commissioning of fume cupboards, local exhaust ventilation (LEV) systems and associated extraction solutions. With more than 30 years of industry experience, they have built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality, safety-focused solutions to customers across sectors including research, pharmaceuticals, education and industry.
\nThe Role
\nOur client is looking for aFitter's Mate to support an experienced Lead Engineer with the installation of fume cupboards, LEV systems and associated ductwork throughout the UK.
\nThis is a hands-on role that involves working away from home Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work when required.
\nThe Lead Engineer will collect you from your home address before the start of each working week.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Assist with the installation of fume cupboards, LEV systems and associated ductwork \n
- Support the Lead Engineer on customer sites across the UK \n
- Load, unload and handle equipment and materials safely \n
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times \n
- Travel and work away from home Monday to Friday \n
- Maintain a professional and positive approach while representing our client on site \n
Key Skills
\n- \n
- Previous experience installing ductwork systems is desirable \n
- Experience of working away from home would be advantageous \n
- Practical, hands-on approach with good mechanical aptitude \n
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team \n
- Reliable, hardworking and willing to learn \n
- Good awareness of health and safety practices \n
- Full UK driving licence is advantageous but not essential \n
Hours
\n- \n
- 7am – 3.30pm Monday to Thursday with a 30-minute lunch break \n
- 7am –12.30pm on a Friday \n
