SEN Learning Support Assistant - KS2 (1:1 Support) Location: Brighton Contract: Full Time, Term Time Only Start Date: September 2026 Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs? Academics is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school in Brighton for a SEN Learning Support Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil in Key Stage 2. The Role As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will: Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil with additional needs. Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement personalised learning and support strategies. Support the pupil's academic progress, social development and emotional wellbeing. Adapt learning activities to meet the child's individual needs. Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour. Build a strong, trusting relationship with the pupil while working collaboratively with school staff and parents. The Ideal Candidate Has previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting. Has experience working with needs such as ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs or SEMH (desirable). Is patient, caring and resilient. Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
