Job Description

Electrical Design Engineer Key Responsibilities & Accountability • A Strong ability to understand project objectives and deliverables • Design and specification of electrical installations, from low voltage (LV) to 33kV systems • Comprehensive modelling of electrical systems, including load calculations, fault level assessments, and coordination of protective measures • Ensuring designs and on-site work comply with relevant standards and regulations • Developing technical specifications for electrical equipment • Communicating design concepts clearly through meetings, technical documentation, and detailed drawings to ensure accurate representation • Acting as a technical representative in client and contractor meetings, showcasing professionalism and expertise • Conducting site surveys, inspections, and monitoring on-site activities to ensure project integrity • Managing project delivery components with a focus on budget and cost control • Writing detailed reports and maintaining comprehensive records in line with company standards • Promoting effective communication and collaboration across teams to achieve project goals Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes The successful applicant will possess: • A minimum qualification of HND/HNC or an equivalent credential is essential • A minimum of five years of experience in electrical design • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and other technical / electrical modelling software applications such as Amtech, ETAP, Power Factory, etc • Familiarity with relevant technical standards is required • Strong skills in professional report writing • Basic proficiency in AutoCAD software • Holds a current registration with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) or a commitment to achieve registration in the near future • Experience in utility or connections-related projects • Must demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to manage one's workload independently
