LOCATION This is a home based remote role but ideally looking for someone who resides in the south of the UK DUTIES Client liaison as Technical Lead / Fire Engineering Advisor. CLIENTS Developers, Property Companies, Local Authorities, Housing Associations, Contractors and Housebuilders. EXPERIENCE (10+ years PQE) %A0; Fire Engineering / Fire Safety Consultancy %A0; External Wall Systems (EWS1, FRAEW, PAS 9980) %A0; Residential, Public Sector, Build to Rent Sector %A0; Understanding of Building Regulations (Part B) and Building Safety Act %A0; Remediation & re-cladding projects %A0; Experience in delivering fire strategies and technical advisory roles %A0; Working under a quality management system %A0; Team Leadership The job role will entail %A0; Work with Directors to improve efficiency, reporting systems and digital tools. %A0; Leading the technical delivery of the fire engineering discipline across the business. %A0; Setting technical direction, standards and governance aligned with regulatory and industry best practice. %A0; Providing strategic oversight from concept through to remediation and completion stages. %A0; Leading stakeholder engagement across high-risk, high-profile projects. %A0; Driving innovation in fire engineering, including digital tools, reporting systems and the “Golden Thread”. %A0; Leading bid submissions, frameworks and assisting in strategic client growth initiatives. %A0; Supporting Directors in shaping the long-term growth and positioning of fire engineering services. %A0; Representing the business at industry forums, CPDs and technical panels. %A0; Leading recruitment, succession planning and team structure development. %A0; Ensuring integration of fire engineering with wider multidisciplinary services. Skills, Knowledge and Understanding %A0; Chartered or working towards (IFE, CEng, MCIOB or equivalent). %A0; Expert knowledge of Building Regulations, Fire Safety legislation, and the Building Safety Act. %A0; Advanced understanding of façade fire risk, compartmentation, and remediation methodologies. %A0; Proven ability to lead technical governance, peer review and quality assurance processes. %A0; Strong commercial awareness with ability to manage team financial performance. %A0; Excellent communication skills with ability to influence at senior stakeholder level. Main Duties and Responsibilities %A0; Provide technical authority on fire safety defects, façade risk, and remediation strategies across the portfolio. %A0; Lead complex technical analysis for high-rise and high-risk buildings, ensuring proportionate, compliant solutions. %A0; Oversee and sign-off technical outputs including FRAEWs, fire strategies and remediation recommendations. %A0; Drive consistency and technical excellence across all fire engineering deliverables. %A0; Comply with, or improve upon, company Key Performance Indicators. %A0; Lead and oversee technical fire engineering delivery across multiple projects. %A0; Report regularly on project status and risks %A0; Monitor quality of work. %A0; Assist Directors with Business Development, cultivating new and existing Clients. %A0; Maintain excellent communication with Clients, Contractors, Residents and stakeholders. %A0; Effectively communicate team requirements, performance, and development needs. %A0; Mentor and support team members in technical development %A0; Advise on technical risk in relation to appointments and professional liability Communication and Client Interaction %A0; Act as senior technical advisor and primary escalation point for key clients. %A0; Lead client engagement on complex and sensitive remediation schemes, including resident-facing situations. %A0; Translate complex fire engineering issues into clear, actionable advice for stakeholders. %A0; Drive business development, securing repeat work and expanding fire engineering services. Technical Competence and Fire Engineering %A0; Act as technical lead for fire engineering across the business, setting standards and best practice. %A0; Lead peer reviews, technical audits, and quality assurance processes across all outputs. %A0; Oversee development of fire strategies, fire statements, and Building Safety Case inputs. %A0; Provide expert advice across design, construction and occupation stages. %A0; Mentor senior staff and develop future technical leaders within the team. Procedures and Administration %A0; Oversee implementation and continuous improvement of Quality Management Systems. %A0; Ensure all outputs align with regulatory requirements and internal governance processes. %A0; Lead development of technical templates, guidance notes and digital workflows. %A0; Provide strategic input into procurement, consultant appointments and contract documentation. %A0; Undertake bid submissions, and technical input to tenders.
