Role Overview We are looking for a hands-on, experienced Mechanical Project Manager with a strong plumbing bias to lead and manage projects in the Southeast and London. This role demands technical expertise in plumbing systems, sharp project management capabilities, and the ability to lead teams to deliver quality installations on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities * Project Ownership: Take full responsibility for the delivery of mechanical and plumbing installations across multiple residential projects, from concept to completion. * Plumbing Expertise: Apply in-depth plumbing knowledge to oversee and inspect all plumbing installations, ensuring compliance with current regulations and client expectations. * Team Leadership: Manage site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers. Foster a collaborative, accountable work environment to deliver projects efficiently. * Client Interface: Be the main point of contact for clients, consultants, and property managers. Maintain strong relationships and provide clear communication and progress updates. * Planning & Scheduling: Develop project timelines, allocate resources effectively, and coordinate labour and materials to meet key milestones. * Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with H&S legislation, enforce site safety protocols, and carry out regular site audits and risk assessments. * Procurement & Cost Control: Manage procurement of materials and plant. Track project spend against budget and report variances to senior leadership. * Quality Assurance: Monitor workmanship, ensure adherence to specifications and industry standards, and drive snag-free project completions. * Problem Solving: Resolve technical issues quickly to minimise disruption and maintain project momentum. * Documentation: Maintain thorough project records including reports, handover packs, variations, and compliance documentation. Candidate Requirements * Proven track record as a Project Manager within mechanical services, ideally with a specialist focus on plumbing systems. * Extensive experience managing residential, education, commercial and health care mechanical projects * Sound knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, plumbing systems, and UK building codes. * Strong leadership and team coordination abilities. * Exceptional communication skills with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders. * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications. * Relevant qualifications: HNC/HND/NVQ Level 3+ in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing, or Construction Management. * CSCS Card, SMSTS, and First Aid (preferred). * Full UK driving licence.
