Primary Practice Setting: United Hospital St. Paul

Provide inpatient pain management consultations, manage acute and chronic pain conditions, and support post-surgical care.

Practice independently as the sole pain Nurse Practitioner at United Hospital with the benefit of support from colleagues across the system who are just a phone call away.

Opportunities to engage in tele-pain consults at Allina's three metro hospitals.

Average census of 10 to 14 patients per day split between providing new patient consults and rounding on follow-up patients

\nJob Description:
\nProvides help with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations as part of a physician/nurse team in accordance with the designated specialty. Works in both inpatient and outpatient situations and can perform independently or as part of a treatment team. Serves as an educator, case manager, consultant to staff and multidisciplinary health care team.
Principle Responsibilities

- Provides clinical care for patients\n

- Completes comprehensive patient assessments. \n
- Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness. \n
- Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician. \n
- Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment. \n
- Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care. \n
- Refers for specialty care when determined. \n
- Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Nurse Practitioner scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear. \n
\n - Participates in health care team\n

- Promotes communication within the team and other interdisciplinary health care staff. \n
- Acts as resource to members of the team. \n
- Works with primary care team for program development. \n
- Acts as liaison with outside agencies as needed. \n
- Collaborates with hospital staff by consulting and rounding on patients if designated by the specialty. \n

Required Qualifications

- Master's degree - Completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner program \n
- 2+ years of work experience as an Advanced Practice Provider \n
Licenses/Certifications
- \n
- Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire \n
- Certified Nurse Practitioner - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire \n
- Certified Nurse Practitioner - American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) certification within specialty required upon hire \n
- ACLS-BLS Tier 2 - Multisource required within 180 Days \n
- Drug Enforcement Administration required upon hire \n

Pay Range
\nPay Range: $56.48 to $78.15 per hour\nThe pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.\n\n\nBenefit Summary
