Job Posting: Opportunity for an Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) Cardiologist at our organization

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver exceptional outpatient and inpatient care to ACHD patients.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to create personalized treatment strategies.
• Participate in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows in pediatric cardiology and adult cardiovascular diseases.
• Engage in research projects and initiatives.
• Take part in advocacy efforts for ACHD at both state and national levels.

Facility and Program Details:

Our organization hosts the largest ACHD program in Arizona, recognized as the only ACHA Accredited Comprehensive Care Center in the state. The program features a team of 24 cardiologists, 13 cardiac intensivists, 3 cardiovascular surgeons, and 24 advanced practice providers. We provide ambulatory cardiac services throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area and have outreach clinics across greater Arizona. As one of the largest pediatric health systems in the nation, we are a premier choice for pediatric care in the Southwest. Inpatient ACHD services are offered at our facility and in partnership with a large academic medical center, which includes renowned institutes for thoracic and neurological care. The selected candidate will play a crucial role alongside the Heart Center teams at both locations.

Qualifications:

• M.D. or equivalent degree.
• Board certified or eligible in Pediatric Cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics.
• Board certified or eligible in Adult Congenital Heart Disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
• Eligible for medical licensure in Arizona.

Our organization is affiliated with the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix. ACHD cardiologists will hold academic positions within the divisions of Child Health and Internal Medicine.

Position Duties:

• Patient Care Services:
  • Deliver patient care services for which you are clinically privileged, including but not limited to:
    • Provide direct patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
    • Offer subspecialty consultations and follow-up care.
    • Administer diagnostic and therapeutic services/procedures.
    • Provide urgent/emergent care as required.
  • Aim for optimal patient and family-centered care.
  • Support hospital patient satisfaction goals and division-specific targets.
  • Adhere to divisional standards for patient safety and quality of care.
  • Practice contemporary evidence-based medicine.
• Divisional Responsibilities:
  • Set and strive to achieve annual goals and objectives for physicians (individual, division, hospital).
  • Support medical education initiatives within the division, including:
    • Supervise trainees and allied health professionals in delivering inpatient and outpatient services.
    • Conduct teaching rounds, lectures, and conferences for trainees.
    • Participate in the education and supervision of trainees and allied health professionals.
    • Engage in postgraduate continuing education activities.
  • Support the division's research initiatives and those of other members.
  • Contribute to the programmatic growth of the division.
  • Assist with satellite efforts of the division when appropriate.

    • Ability to communicate via telephone, computer, or other devices.
    • Willingness to take after-hours or night call as necessary.
    • Ability to maintain regular work hours.
