Job Description
Step into an impactful contract opportunity supporting students in two vibrant school communities near the Washington DC area, just 45 minutes south of the city. This full-time position (37.5 hours/week) focuses on key psychoeducational assessment and consultation services across one elementary and one middle school. Daily hours run from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, providing a structured schedule for work-life balance.
The role centers on comprehensive assessment, consultation with educational teams, developing and supporting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP), and occasional support for the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). Collaboration with social workers on counseling is possible but infrequent. Academic achievement testing is not required, as educational diagnosticians are available within each school, allowing you to focus your expertise on psychological and behavioral needs.
A flexible 4/1 hybrid option is available, enabling one remote day per week based on district needs and your preferences.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Active Virginia Department of Education certification
- Current Virginia School Psychologist License
- Previous experience conducting assessments, FBAs, BIPs, and school-based consultation
- Familiarity with MTSS frameworks is a plus
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
- Must begin the Virginia Department of Social Services background check immediately
- TB test clearance required
