We are in search of a distinguished physician leader to take on the role of Chair for the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at our organization. Position Overview

The Chair will be responsible for providing strategic, operational, clinical, and administrative leadership within the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of women's healthcare in the region. The selected leader will collaborate closely with hospital and system executives to improve access, bolster subspecialty services, attract and retain top-tier talent, and further establish our organization as a premier destination for comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care.

Position Highlights
  • Lead one of New Jersey's top Women's Health programs, handling approximately 6,000 deliveries each year.
  • Oversee a comprehensive department that encompasses general OB/GYN services along with a growing array of subspecialty offerings.

Candidate Requirements
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical institution.
  • Board Certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of leadership experience in a hospital or healthcare setting providing similar levels of obstetrical and gynecologic care.
  • Proven success in leading physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams within a complex healthcare environment.
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in New Jersey (NJ licensure required upon hire).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership abilities with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
  • Experience in an academic or teaching setting is preferred but not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive strategic, operational, clinical, and administrative leadership for the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
  • Collaborate with hospital and system leadership to further enhance our organization’s reputation as a leader in women's healthcare.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing physicians and advanced practice providers while nurturing a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Advance initiatives related to quality, safety, patient experience, and operational performance throughout the department.
  • Lead efforts in physician recruitment, retention, research, succession planning, and faculty development.
  • Expand and strengthen both general OB/GYN and subspecialty programs to address the evolving needs of the community.
  • Encourage collaboration across departments, service lines, and academic partners to support clinical, educational, and strategic goals.
  • Act as a visible and engaged leader, fostering strong relationships with physicians, staff, patients, and community stakeholders.
Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is between $450,000 and $550,000 annually. The final compensation offered will be influenced by various factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
