Senior Project Engineer

The Project Engineer will oversee engineering initiatives from their initial stages through design, procurement, installation, cost management, and commissioning. This role includes evaluating project outcomes in collaboration with plant operations and maintenance teams. Key responsibilities encompass construction oversight, scheduling, contractor management, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. Projects will span various disciplines based on the specific scope of work.

$105,000.00 - $130,000.00 annually | Based on experience

• Assist in the development and execution of the capital budget, including justifications, conceptual designs, estimates, and project definitions.
• Oversee assigned projects, including concept design, layout sketches, and general arrangements.
• Supervise detailing, research, and specification of equipment and components; draft specifications/contracts/requisitions, solicit bids, and provide recommendations to the purchasing team; oversee installation and/or start-up processes.
• Train personnel on the operation and maintenance of new equipment, organize files with spare part suggestions, and manage budgeted expenses.
• Review design calculations and drawings produced by engineering firms, consultants, or contractors to ensure compliance with company standards and applicable regulations.
• Generate design calculations and drawings for projects handled within the department or plant.
• Assist local plant operations with technical issues as assigned, including equipment troubleshooting, critical path scheduling, material/equipment selection, and mathematical calculations.
• Collaborate with the environmental department on permit applications and engineering documentation.
• Engage daily with department and plant personnel for project advancement.
• Prepare technical reports as necessary.
• Maintain departmental files for future reference.
• Carry out any special tasks or responsibilities as assigned.
• Implement necessary regulations, including OSHA, MSHA, UPC, UBC, NFPA, NEC, and others.

Bachelor’s degree in Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.

• Proficient in AutoCAD Earthwork: capable of drawing plans, preparing layouts, delivering presentations, and conducting volume takeoffs and cut/fill analyses.
• Must demonstrate effective leadership and strong communication abilities.
• Possess excellent problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with GPS technology.
• Familiarity with Primavera P6 scheduling software.
• Working knowledge of SAP systems.
