\nPOSITION DETAILS
\nReports to: Food & Beverage Supervisor
\nCategory: Seasonal (April – Mid October in Hoonah, Alaska)
\nSalary Range: Hourly, with tips and bonus potential
\nSUMMARY
\nThe basic duties of the Chef/Floater position at Icy Strait Point include arriving on time at the assigned venue in the uniform provided, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen, gaining a clear understanding of all menu items, working as a team member in a friendly and professional manner.
\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
\n\n
\n - Conduct all activities and decisions according to Icy Strait Point's guiding principles \n
- Provide outstanding service efficiently and with a professional demeanor \n
- Assist with stocking and setting up kitchen stations \n
- Prepare ingredients including cleaning, cutting, and portioning \n
- Cook a variety of menu items according to recipes and chef instructions \n
- Plate prepared foods according to presentation standards \n
- Work with servers and cashiers to ensure orders are accurate and delivered on time \n
- Wash and sanitize kitchen utensils, cooking equipment, and work areas \n
- Maintain compliance with all kitchen hygiene and food safety standards \n
- Willingly shift to other stations and/or assignments as needed \n
- Perform all other duties as assigned \n
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
\n\n
\n - Stand and work on your feet for up to ten hours with minimal break time \n
- Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality \n
- Organize and prioritize tasks under pressure while maintaining a calm and pleasant demeanor \n
- Communicate effectively and politely with guests, coworkers, and management \n
- Follow company dress code \n
- Restaurant background a plus \n
- Learn quickly and follow oral and written instructions \n
- Team-oriented mindset \n
- Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat \n
- Prolonged standing and walking (over 5 miles a day) \n
- Lift up to 40-50 pounds \n
- Work safely in noisy environments with various odors present \n
- Willing to live in a remote, rural community \n
- Comfortable traveling by small plane or ferry \n
- Able to walk on gravel roads in inclement weather \n
