\nLocation: Shreveport, Louisiana
\nJob Summary:
\nThe Radiation Oncologist will be responsible for diagnosing and developing personalized treatment plans for patients undergoing radiation therapy. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with a team of medical professionals, including medical physicists, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, and oncology nurses, to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
\nKey Responsibilities:
\nEvaluate patients with cancer and formulate treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
\nAdminister and oversee radiation therapy treatments.
\nCollaborate with other oncology specialists and multidisciplinary teams to create comprehensive care plans.
\nParticipate in tumor boards and case discussions.
\nEnsure adherence to safety protocols and quality assurance standards in radiation treatment.
\nEducate patients and their families on treatment processes and expected outcomes.
\nEngage in clinical research or continuous improvement projects, as applicable.
\nQualifications:
\nMedical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
\nBoard certification (or eligibility) in Radiation Oncology.
\nValid medical license to practice in Louisiana
\nStrong clinical expertise in radiation therapy planning and delivery.
\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.
\nDedication to patient-centered care and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
\nPreferred Experience:
\nProficiency with advanced radiation therapy techniques (e.g., IMRT, SBRT, SRS, IGRT).
\nFamiliarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
\nParticipation in research, publications, or teaching activities.
