About Us: Our organization is a leading provider of independent medical evaluations, committed to assisting United States Veterans throughout the VA's disability benefits process. We strive to offer comprehensive, unbiased, and empathetic medical assessments that facilitate timely and precise disability evaluations.

Position Summary: We are in search of a skilled and committed Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Physician to perform medical evaluations for veterans. This position is solely focused on independent assessments and does not include treatment responsibilities. You will be tasked with reviewing medical histories, conducting thorough evaluations, and completing VA-provided Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) via a secure online platform. These evaluations will aid the VA in making accurate disability decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine and interpret veterans' medical records through a secure web interface.
  • Conduct detailed, non-treating evaluations of veterans to document their current health status.
  • Fill out and submit DBQs using VA-specific templates to ensure all pertinent medical information is captured.
  • Guarantee that all DBQs are comprehensive, precise, and submitted within 24 hours post-assessment.
  • Evaluate up to four veterans each day.

Schedule: Part-Time, in-person. Travel required between McAllen, Laredo, and Corpus Christi.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Driven to conduct independent medical evaluations in a non-treating, investigative capacity.
  • Adept at analyzing and synthesizing information from extensive medical records and physical assessments.
  • Efficient in time management, completing tasks within set deadlines while maintaining a focus on quality.
  • Proficient in digital documentation and record examination.
  • Committed to serving veterans and positively impacting their lives.

Requirements:

  • Current MD or DO license with a specialization in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R).
  • Board certification in Neurological Surgery, PM&R, or Psychiatry and Neurology is preferred; candidates who have completed a two-year residency in a relevant specialty will also be considered.
  • Excellent typing skills and a keen attention to detail are crucial.

If you are a PM&R physician who values objective evaluations and is passionate about supporting veterans, we invite you to apply for this impactful position.
