Position Overview

This role is designed to fulfill the primary responsibilities of a nurse by assessing, planning, directing, and evaluating patient care in the Emergency Room.

Essential Job Functions
  • Plan, prioritize, and deliver proficient nursing care that is age-specific and developmentally appropriate, utilizing advanced clinical knowledge and skills to ensure patient and family comfort and safety.
  • Accurately and consistently document medical records in a clear and concise manner.
  • Monitor and record signs, symptoms, and behaviors, including the physiological status of patients.
  • Propose revisions to interventions and desired outcomes as necessary.
  • Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality of information and records at all times.
  • Follow physician orders in the provision of nursing care.
  • Collect laboratory samples and conduct lab tests in accordance with established policies and regulations, including COLA and CLIA standards.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols, isolation procedures, and aseptic techniques during patient care.
  • Carry out admission, discharge, and transfer procedures.
  • Engage in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care provided.
  • Prepare equipment and supplies for various diagnostic or treatment procedures in the specialty service area; perform or assist with procedures or treatments while adhering to legal, hospital, and departmental policies and standards of nursing practice as defined by the state’s Board of Nursing.
Other Job Functions
  • Conduct all assigned Quality Assessment activities and document findings.
  • Participate in staff meetings or other company-sponsored meetings as required.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse without any sanctions is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of full-time RN experience in an Emergency Room or comparable setting is required.
  • Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS from the American Heart Association are required; ENPC certification from ENA may substitute for PALS certification; TNCC certification is preferred.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is necessary.
  • For Pennsylvania Candidates: Completion of Act 33 (Child Abuse History Clearance) and Act 73 (FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Clearance) within the last 5 years is required, or these must be obtained prior to the start date.
