Job Description
Our organization is on the lookout for a seasoned Cardiologist Medical Director to spearhead and shape a burgeoning cardiology program at Memorial Hospital Belleville, situated in the St. Louis metropolitan area. This leadership role is available to both Interventional and Non-Invasive Cardiologists who are enthusiastic about program enhancement, clinical excellence, and collaborative leadership.

Become part of a well-established, collaborative team consisting of:
- 8 Cardiologists and 3 APPs
- A dedicated Medical Assistant for each physician
- APPs assisting with both clinic and inpatient rounds
- A cardiology hospitalist managing inpatient care
The structure is flexible based on subspecialty:

For Interventional Cardiologists:
- 2-3 days in the Cath Lab
- 1-2 days in the Clinic
- Dedicated cath lab time with a robust procedural volume

For General (Non-Invasive) Cardiologists:
- Primarily clinic-based with inpatient consultative support as needed
- Focus on diagnostics, imaging, and longitudinal care
- Clinic located on the hospital campus near the cath lab
- Strong collaboration with cardiac and vascular teams
- Efficient workflow supported by APPs and hospitalist structure
- Competitive two-year guaranteed salary

Preferred QualificationsThe physician will deliver professional medical services within their specialty, focusing on direct patient care while also managing related duties such as completing medical records, providing consultations, and collaborating with advanced practice providers and care team members.
Responsibilities- Manage the medical care of a patient panel by providing or arranging inpatient hospital care, either through regular rounds or by coordinating with hospitalists or other qualified physicians.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and care team members to ensure excellent patient care outcomes at designated clinic locations.
- Document medical histories and physicals in patient records as required by hospital bylaws.
- Provide or arrange call coverage for clinic patients and inpatient care in accordance with medical staff bylaws and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with and mentor advanced practice providers and support staff involved in patient care.
- This position is classified as safety-sensitive, requiring constant alertness and safe work practices.
- Education: Doctorate in Medicine
- Experience: No supervisory experience required
- Licenses & Certifications: Board Eligible or Board Certified Licensed Physician
- 2-5 years of relevant experience
