\nThe Salisbury VA Healthcare System is seeking a dedicated full-time (Gastroenterologist) Staff Physician in Kernersville NC, to lead our compassionate healthcare team. Our facility is equipped with advanced Olympus scopes for comprehensive GI procedures, providing an excellent environment for professional growth. Provide patient-centered care for adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
\n - \n
Supervise and support nurse practitioners.
\n - \n
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and serve as staff attending for consults.
\n - \n
Participate in quality improvement, multidisciplinary teams, and peer review processes.
\n - \n
Complete timely medical record documentation.
\n - \n
Engage in ongoing professional development and required education.
\n - \n
Teach and mentor residents, fellows, and medical students (if assigned).
\n - \n
Support and participate in clinical research activities.
\n

\nSalary Range: $350,000-$400,000
\nSign-on Bonus: Authorized
\nEDRP: Education Debt Reduction Program Authorized
\nPay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
\nWork-Life Balance: Various flexible schedule options are available. This includes standard 8-10-hour workdays and compressed work schedules.
\nCall Schedule: There is no call at Kernersville. It is an HCC. Can take calls at Salisbury VA Medical Center one day a week.
\nPaid Time Off: 50-55 days of annual paid time offer per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by V.A.
Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)
Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any U.S. State or territory
CME: Possible $2,500 per year reimbursement
Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided
Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restrictions on moonlighting
Academic Affiliation: Atrium Health Wake Forest
\nWork Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30-4:00pm
\n\nRequirements
\nU.S. Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is impossible to recruit qualified citizens, in accordance with VA Policy.
\nEducation: A Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine is required.
\nLicensure: Candidates must possess a current, complete, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a state, territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
\nResidency: Completion of a residency program in an accredited core specialty.
\nBoard Certification: Candidates must be board-certified or board eligible.
