Qualifications and Experience
- Valid School Psychologist certification or license as required by South Carolina Department of Education
- Master’s or Specialist degree in School Psychology (or higher)
- Experience conducting comprehensive psychoeducational assessments in school settings
- Solid understanding of IDEA, Section 504, and related regulations governing special education and student accommodations
- Proficient in developing data-driven recommendations and intervention plans
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with teachers, administrators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to maintaining accurate records and timely documentation
- Ability to provide crisis intervention, counseling, behavioral support, and consultative services
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and interpret psychoeducational evaluations for students, assessing academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs
- Develop recommendations for special education eligibility, intervention planning, and student supports
- Collaborate with school staff and families, attending IEP meetings and contributing to eligibility determinations
- Deliver individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and behavior management strategies
- Consult with educators and support staff to design inclusive instructional and behavioral interventions
- Ensure compliance with relevant state and federal education regulations and confidentiality laws
- Promote a safe, equitable, and inclusive learning environment for all students
