Quick Facts Location: Colorado Springs, CO 80909 Start Date: 04/28/2026 Duration: Permanent Shift: Monday - Friday, rotating OR coverage (8-hour days) Hours per Week: Full-time (35-40 hours) Employment Type: Full-time, salaried position Licensure/Certs: Colorado PA license (or eligible) required Experience: At least 3 years in cardiac/cardiovascular surgery and ICU management Pay & Benefits Hourly Pay Rate: $1.00 (Note: Pay package discussed upon application) Competitive annual salary: $100,588 – $143,769 (based on experience) Quality and productivity bonus potential Relocation bonus for eligible candidates Paid malpractice insurance Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance (dependent coverage included) Generous CME allowance for ongoing education 403(b) with employer matching and optional 457(b) plan Wellness programs and flexible spending accounts (healthcare/dental, dependent care) Health Savings Account (HSA) option with high-deductible plans Paid time off (PTO), paid family and medical leave (including Colorado FAMLI) Tuition reimbursement and paid degree programs Additional voluntary benefits such as identity theft protection and employee discounts What You’ll Do Provide expert perioperative care for cardiothoracic surgery patients with a patient-first approach Assist in complex cardiac surgeries, including endoscopic vein harvesting and surgical procedures Manage ICU and cardiovascular surgical patient care, including rounding and evaluations in CVICU, floor, and clinic Participate in two full-day clinics weekly with additional patient appointments as needed Rotate through operating room coverage Monday through Friday Collaborate with surgeons, intensivists, and healthcare professionals in a multidisciplinary environment Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests Develop and implement detailed care plans and follow-up protocols Prescribe medications and ensure accurate clinical documentation Perform bedside procedures appropriate for cardiac surgery patients Operate independently under physician supervision with expert clinical judgment Complete ongoing Continuing Medical Education (CME) to maintain and enhance skills What You Need Valid Colorado Physician Assistant license or eligibility Minimum 3 years of experience in cardiac or cardiovascular surgery and ICU patient management Key skills: clinical judgment, teamwork, adaptability, strong communication skills About the Assignment This position is with a leading healthcare facility in Colorado Springs, focusing on advanced cardiac surgical procedures and patient-centered care.
