Job Opportunity: Non-Invasive Cardiologist

We are looking for a skilled Staff Cardiologist to join our healthcare team in Tulsa, Oklahoma, specifically at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Position Overview

The organization is inviting applications for the role of Staff Physician in the Non-Invasive Cardiology section. We are in search of a board-certified physician who is interested in a full-time position within our Cardiology Non-Invasive department at the Eastern Oklahoma VA Medical Center Hospital. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic clinical environment and hold dual board certifications in Cardiology and Internal Medicine. A strong interest in Echocardiography, stress testing, Holter monitoring, and event monitoring is essential. This role encompasses both outpatient and inpatient consultations and management, supporting a 58-bed VA hospital in Tulsa. The position reports directly to the Chief of Medicine Specialty and does not involve supervisory responsibilities.

Teaching Opportunities

Staff Physicians may have the chance to engage in teaching due to our collaboration with the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (OSUCOM) and the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine (OUCOM). Qualified candidates will possess an MD or DO, a current unrestricted medical license in the U.S., and be board-certified or eligible in Cardiology. The ideal applicant will also be suitable for an academic appointment at OSUCOM or OUCOM, potentially at the assistant, associate, or full professor level, supported by a strong history of clinical and/or academic excellence. Additionally, candidates must meet the eligibility requirements for appointment at the VA. The clinical activities within the Cardiology section cover a wide range of subspecialties and are well-supported by surgery, pathology, radiology, and other members of the Medicine Service.

Work Schedule

• Full-time position, Monday to Friday
• Evening or weekend shifts may be required as part of a 24/7 full-time physician role

Eligibility Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen (Non-U.S. Citizens may be considered)
• Current, full, and unrestricted medical license to practice in the U.S.
• Board Certification in Cardiology and Internal Medicine is preferred; Board Eligibility may also be considered

Compensation and Benefits

• Expected salary range: $320,000 to $400,000
• Potential for an annual performance bonus of up to $15,000
• A sign-on bonus will be provided
• Eligibility for the Physician/Provider Contract Buy Out Program (CBOP), which allows for the buyout of service contracts in exchange for employment at certain rural or highly rural facilities for a minimum obligated service period of four years
