Job Description
Step into a pivotal role supporting student wellness as a Mental Health Therapist for a part-time, contract assignment. This position is ideal for skilled professionals passionate about making a positive difference in a school setting. You'll be working 20 hours per week, covering a maternity leave from October through December.
Qualifications and Credentials:
- Holds one of the following valid Iowa licenses: LMHC, LISW, LMFT, LMSW, or Psychologist
- Previous experience in educational or youth settings is highly desirable
- Strong background in assessment, counseling, and intervention
- Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with students, staff, and families
- Understanding of relevant state and federal mental health regulations
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive mental health services to students, including assessments, individual and group counseling, and crisis intervention
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement strategies that improve student well-being
- Maintain confidential records and complete all documentation in accordance with school and legal requirements
- Contribute to multi-disciplinary teams to support the academic and emotional needs of students
- Participate in meetings, case consultations, and professional development as needed
