Position Overview:
Pediatric RN- Department: Medical Surgical - 4N
- Schedule: Full-Time, Night Shift, 36 Hours/Week, 7 PM - 7 AM, Every 3rd Weekend
- Sign-On Bonus: Discuss available options with your recruiter! A two-year service commitment is required for external qualified candidates.
- Experience in pediatric hematology/oncology is advantageous!
- Shift Differentials: Available for night and weekend shifts
- Location: Our Healthcare Facility
Position Summary:
This role involves delivering direct nursing care in line with the established policies, procedures, and protocols of our organization.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Develops and oversees patient care plans, monitoring and documenting patient conditions as necessary.
- Acts as the main coordinator among various disciplines to ensure seamless patient care.
- Follows and executes orders from physicians and nursing staff.
- Evaluates and organizes discharge planning needs in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Maintains a vigilant and safe working environment.
- Performs additional tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION
- Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program or possess equivalent educational qualifications for licensing.
EXPERIENCE
- No prior experience is necessary.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Regularly uses speech for effective oral communication.
- Constantly stands and walks.
- Frequently lifts, carries, and pushes/pulls items weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Regularly sits, reaches, and engages in data entry.
- Frequently utilizes vision for near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances, as well as color differentiation.
- Regularly uses smell to identify odors.
- Frequently relies on hearing for oral communication and to detect alarms or machinery issues.
- Occasionally lifts and moves objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
- Occasionally assists in lifting/moving patients.
- Occasionally bends, stoops, kneels, squats, twists, grips, and performs repetitive movements with legs and arms.
- Occasionally drives.
- Rarely crawls or runs.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
For Illinois:
- Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
For Missouri:
- Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Registered Nurse (RN) - Missouri Division of Professional Registration
- Or Registered Nurse (RN) issued by Compact State
For Oklahoma:
- Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Registered Nurse (RN) issued by Compact State
- Or Registered Nurse (RN) - Oklahoma Board of Nursing (OBN)
For Wisconsin:
- Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Registered Nurse (RN) issued by Compact State
- Or Registered Nurse (RN) - Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services
