Job Description
The Ready-Mix Mechanic will handle all maintenance and repair tasks related to trucks and equipment.

- Perform equipment servicing according to a scheduled plan and promptly.
- Diagnose, repair, and clean commercial trucks and equipment, including the removal of concrete buildup.
- Assess, prioritize, and address equipment issues based on safety, customer service, preventive maintenance, and other concerns.
- Maintain records of all repairs and regularly update the shop manager and dispatch on the status of inoperative vehicles.
- Help keep an accurate inventory of parts by organizing them properly and documenting any parts used.
- Ensure safe working practices and report any incidents or injuries to management immediately.
- Participate in scheduled safety meetings as directed by management.
- Carry out additional related tasks as assigned.
High school diploma or GED is required.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Possession of personal tools is necessary.
- The role involves physical activities such as climbing, bending, squatting, lifting, stretching, driving, riding, twisting, and operating controls on uneven terrain.
- Basic computer skills are required for entering work order data.
- Experience in basic fabrication and the use of welding and gas torch equipment is needed.
- Ability to lift weights ranging from 75 lbs. to 100 lbs.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools is essential.
- Skills in troubleshooting diesel engines from various manufacturers are required.
- Experience in performing preventive maintenance is necessary.
- Must be capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Willingness to work in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Work shifts may vary and could include overtime; night shifts may be necessary.
- Ability to work well with others is a must.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three years of prior experience in repairing Ready Mix trucks is preferred.
- Possession of a CDL and experience with heavy equipment is advantageous.
The selected candidate must undergo a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug and alcohol screening, and a background check. Certain positions may require ongoing drug and alcohol testing regulated by FMCSA.
