Job Description
Looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in student lives while working in a collaborative educational environment just outside the nation’s capital? This full-time contract position is ideal for dedicated School Psychologists ready to begin in August 2026 and work through the end of the school year in late May 2027. You'll serve two schools (one elementary, one middle) in the northern Stafford area, enjoying diverse experiences with a primarily assessment and consultation-focused caseload.
The assignment runs from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM daily, totaling 37.5 hours per week, with some flexibility. An on-site presence is needed, but a 4/1 hybrid model (four days on-site, one remote) may be considered.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid VA Department of Education Certification
- Current VA School Psychologist License
- Ability to begin Department of Social Services credentialing and TB testing promptly
- Experience in assessment and consultation within a school setting
- Strengths in Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) support
- Familiarity with Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) processes preferred
What You’ll Do:
- Conduct psychoeducational assessments and provide expert consultation for staff and families
- Support behavioral interventions, crafting and monitoring FBA/BIP plans
- Collaborate closely with educational diagnosticians (no academic achievement testing required)
- Lend occasional support to social workers for student counseling
- Serve as a proactive member of student success teams
