Job Description
Step into an influential role supporting two schools in the Washington DC area—just 45 minutes south of downtown—in a position focused on assessment, consultation, and behavioral support for students in elementary and middle school settings. This full-time, contract opportunity runs from August 3, 2026, through May 26, 2027, offering a unique chance to work both on-site and with potential for a hybrid schedule (four days on campus, one day remote per week).
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid certification from the Virginia Department of Education
- Active Virginia Psychology License
- Experience in assessment, functional behavior assessment/behavior intervention plans (FBA/BIP), and student consultation
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers and educators
- Comfortable supporting Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
- Must complete Virginia Department of Social Services background check and a tuberculosis test promptly upon acceptance
- Background working with elementary and middle school age groups highly preferred
Your Responsibilities:
- Lead assessments and provide consultative services for student support teams
- Collaborate on behavior intervention strategies and participate in FBA/BIP development
- Support MTSS implementation as needed
- Coordinate with educational diagnosticians—academic achievement testing is not included in this role
- Offer occasional assistance to social workers on counseling cases
- Travel between one elementary and one middle school within northern Stafford County
