POSITION OVERVIEW:
\n- \n
- Primarily outpatient clinical role with inpatient responsibilities \n
- Standard office hours (Mon-Thurs: 8am-5pm / Friday 8am-12pm) \n
- Protected administrative time (5 days clinic time with .5-day admin time per week) \n
- 36 patient contact hours / 4 admin hours \n
- Call Schedule: 10 days per month (only at CMC), supported by telemedicine and a tele-stroke program; neurologist on call will also see consults in the hospital. \n
- VERY light call. Senior physician only had to come in at night 1 time last year while on call. \n
- ED and the tele-stroke program through the Medical University of South Carolina takes care of stroke and TPA protocol. Neurologists typically do not administer TPA. \n
- Cerner EMR with Dragon dictation + Ambient Ai \n
SCOPE OF WORK:
\n- \n
- 80% outpatient/20% inpatient \n
- Average Patient Volume: 18-22 patients per day (senior physician sees 25+) \n
- Visit Types: General neurology consultations, follow-ups, and diagnostic testing. \n
- Typical Procedures: EMG, EEG, nerve conduction studies, and Botox injections. \n
- Support Services: Telemedicine for consults, EMG tech onsite to assist with testing, and a tele-stroke program in place. \n

- Electroencephalography (EEG) for detecting electrical activity in the brain \n
- Electromyography (EMG) and Nerve Conduction Studies for evaluating nerve and muscle function \n
- Advanced neuroimaging including MRI, CT, and specialized brain scans \n
- Carotid ultrasound and other vascular studies \n
- Lumbar puncture (spinal tap) capabilities \n
- Sleep studies for neurological sleep disorders \n
- Cognitive and neuropsychological testing \n
