Transport Planner - Swindon, Wiltshire
\nPeople Solutions are currently recruiting for a Transport Planner to join our well-established client based in Swindon, Wiltshire.

\nThis role would suit candidates who have previously worked as a Transport Coordinator, Logistics Planner or Transport Administrator and have a strong understanding of transport compliance and fleet operations.

Day-to-Day Duties:
\nAs a Transport Planner, your duties will include:
\n- \n
- Planning and coordinating daily vehicle movements and driver schedules across the UK \n
- Ensuring fleet utilisation is efficient, cost-effective, and meets operational requirements \n
- Monitoring driver hours, tachograph compliance, and transport KPIs \n
- Maintaining accurate transport records, servicing schedules, and compliance documentation \n
- Supporting route optimisation to improve efficiency and service levels \n
- Assisting with fleet maintenance planning, MOT scheduling, and defect reporting \n
- Liaising with drivers and internal teams to ensure smooth day-to-day transport operations \n
Essential Skills:
\nTo be successful in this role, you will need:
\n- \n
- Previous experience in a Transport Planner, Transport Coordinator, or similar logistics position \n
- Strong understanding of drivers' hours regulations, tachograph requirements, and transport compliance \n
- Experience using Transport Management Systems (TMS) \n
- Excellent organisational and communication skills \n
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications \n
- The ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment \n
Desirable Experience:
\n- \n
- Knowledge of Operator Licence (O-Licence) compliance \n
- Previous experience within a 3PL or multi-customer transport operation \n
- Experience supporting fleet maintenance and compliance processes \n
