Residential Support Worker - 3-bed Children’s Residential Home (EBD, 7-17 years old)

  • Salary Range: £26,000 to £30,000 (dependent on experience and inclusive of sleep-in payments)

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people, providing a nurturing and structured environment.
  • \n
  • Support daily routines including personal care, meals, activities, education, and health appointments.
  • \n
  • Engage in therapeutic and recreational activities that promote development and resilience.
  • \n
  • Apply consistent and appropriate boundaries and behaviour management strategies.
  • \n
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people at all times.
  • \n
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals.
  • \n
  • Contribute to the day-to-day running of the home, maintaining a safe, welcoming, and homely environment.
  • \n

Required Skills & Qualifications:

    \n
  • Experience working with children/young people with EBD and challenging behaviour
  • \n
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
  • \n
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • \n
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • \n
  • Willingness to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
  • \n
  • Desirable: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), understanding of EBD and trauma-informed care, or willingness to work towards qualification within 2 years.
