Legal Counsel - Markets Regulation

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded Markets Advisory function, providing strategic legal and regulatory advice across a broad range of Global Markets products. You'll work closely with Trading, Compliance, Operations and senior business stakeholders, advising on complex regulatory developments while supporting a dynamic and fast-paced business.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Advising on legal and regulatory issues relating to derivatives, repo and securities lending.
\n
• Providing guidance on EMIR, UK EMIR Margin Rules, MiFID II, FCA/PRA requirements and relevant US regulatory frameworks.
\n
• Supporting the implementation and interpretation of evolving regulatory requirements across Global Markets.
\n
• Advising on clearing arrangements, transaction reporting and capital-related regulatory issues.
\n
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of market documentation, including terms of business and regulatory disclosures.
\n
• Partnering with internal stakeholders across Legal, Compliance, Front Office and Operations on complex regulatory matters.
\n
• Contributing to legal know-how initiatives and helping shape best practice across the wider legal function.

• Qualified lawyer or similar qualification
\n
• Strong experience advising on regulatory matters within an investment bank, financial institution or leading private practice.
\n
• Experience advising on derivatives, repo and securities lending transactions.
\n
• Strong knowledge of EMIR, MiFID II and broader Global Markets regulation.
\n
• Excellent commercial judgement and a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach.
\n
• The ability to manage complex legal issues while building strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
\n
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
\n
