VAT Manager

Job Title: VAT Manager - Advisory

Location: City of London - 2/3 office days

Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 (dependent on experience) + benefits!

The Role:

This role is for someone that is a self-starter, that is able to work independently in carrying out reviews, managing their own portfolio, and will show a willingness to work as part of a team. The would be for an individual willing to undertake business development activities and be able to meet deadlines - with the work involving almost exclusively consultancy work and practice development.

Job Functions:

• Reviewing advice and calculations prepared by other members of staff
\n
• Liaising with HMRC on queries raised by them
\n
• Providing VAT advisory services to Partners, clients, and colleagues
\n
• Preparation of the VAT sections of due diligence reports
\n
• Supporting the VAT team and wider sector teams in BD activities such as attending events, preparing marketing material and leading meetings with targets.

Person Specification:

\n
• A professional qualification is preferred
\n
• Previous experience of a professional services environment and dealing with HMRC would be an advantage
\n
• Previous experience of managing a portfolio of clients would be an advantage
\n
• Experience of providing advisory work is required
\n
• Good IT skills, e.g. Outlook, Word and particularly Excel
\n
• Deliver work to a high standard and meet deadlines
\n
• Able to demonstrate good client focused skills, ability to work unsupervised, work within a team, influence and negotiate
\n
• Excellent communication skills essential, being able to communicate with all levels internally and externally
\n
• Ability to write articles and present to clients and contacts at seminars and events is highly desirable
