Assistant Accountant

We're working with a successful business seeking a capable and proactive finance professional to join their team on a temp to perm basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with the Finance Director, gaining exposure to a broad range of financial responsibilities while helping to drive efficiencies and improvements across the finance function.

Key duties will include:

• Producing management information and supporting financial analysis to aid business decision-making
\n
• Assisting with month-end processes, including accruals, prepayments, and account reconciliations
\n
• Processing weekly and monthly payroll and ensuring accurate records are maintained
\n
• Preparing VAT returns and supporting statutory and HMRC compliance requirements
\n
• Identifying opportunities to streamline finance processes and improve efficiency
\n
• Managing bank reconciliations, expenses, and petty cash transactions
\n
• Overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
\n
• Supporting ad-hoc finance projects and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
