Electrical & Instrumentation TechnicianNewport, South WalesSalary: £44,000 basic + 7.3% additional hours payment = £47,212 total annual earnings + BonusHours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join a well-established manufacturing operation in Newport. Working within a highly regulated industrial environment, you'll play a key role in maintaining plant reliability, supporting production and ensuring the safe operation of electrical and instrumentation systems across the site.The RoleReporting to the E&I Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:\n

- Responding to plant breakdowns and carrying out fault diagnosis on electrical and instrumentation equipment. \n
- Installation, maintenance and repair of 415V AC motors and associated control equipment. \n
- Installing, commissioning and maintaining control, safety and measurement systems. \n
- Maintaining instrumentation including pressure, temperature and level measurement devices. \n
- Carrying out calibration activities and maintaining accurate records in line with site procedures. \n
- Maintenance of hazardous area equipment in accordance with DSEAR regulations. \n
- General electrical installation work including lighting, cable containment and distribution systems. \n
- Supporting preventative maintenance programmes and continuous improvement initiatives. \n
- Updating maintenance records and equipment history using SAP. \n
- \n
- A time-served apprenticeship or recognised qualification in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation or a related discipline. \n
- Experience working within manufacturing, process, chemical, pharmaceutical, food, energy or heavy industrial environments. \n
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills with a structured approach to root cause analysis. \n
- Experience maintaining electrical, control and instrumentation systems. \n
- Knowledge of hazardous area equipment and industrial safety standards. \n
- The ability to work independently and as part of a wider maintenance team. \n
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work effectively. \n
