Job Description

Kenneth Brian Associates is recruiting on behalf of a successful and growing business based in Croydon for an experienced and qualified Finance Manager.

This is a hands on leadership role, ideal for a finance professional who enjoys taking ownership, working autonomously, and supporting the wider business. Managing a team of 8, you'll be responsible for overseeing the finance function while acting as a trusted business partner across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities\n

  • Lead, mentor and develop a finance team of 8.
  • \n
  • Prepare monthly management accounts with insightful commentary.
  • \n
  • Produce annual budgets, forecasts and cash flow projections.
  • \n
  • Manage the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors.
  • \n
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and UK GAAP.
  • \n
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns across multiple group companies.
  • \n
  • Oversee cash flow and payment processes, ensuring suppliers are paid within agreed credit terms.
  • \n
  • Manage customer credit checks and credit insurance arrangements.
  • \n
  • Provide commercial and financial support across the business, answering a wide range of operational and financial queries.
  • \n
  • Work closely with sales, operations and senior management to provide accurate information on areas such as pricing, stock availability and inventory.
  • \n
  • Participate in customer meetings where financial input is required.
  • \n
  • Prepare presentations and financial information to support fundraising and strategic initiatives.
  • \n
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial controls, processes and reporting.
  • \n
About You\n
    \n
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
  • \n
  • Previous experience in a Finance Manager or similar senior finance position.
  • \n
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.
  • \n
  • Experience preparing management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
  • \n
  • Confident managing audits and dealing with external stakeholders.
  • \n
  • Proven people management experience, with the ability to lead and develop a team.
  • \n
  • Highly organised, proactive and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • \n
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, hands-on environment where no two days are the same.
  • \n
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage with colleagues, customers and senior stakeholders at all levels.
  • \n
  • Commercially aware with a practical, problem-solving approach.
  • \n
