Job Description

Nenebrook Recruitment Group have been enlisted by a high growth Motor Retail Group with the appointment of several Dealership Accounting & Divisional Accounting Positions.

\n

Reporting into the Head of Finance, this is a pivotal finance role responsible for delivering accurate, timely financial reporting across the dealership or a division ensuring robust control of accounting processes, and supporting commercial decision-making.

\n

This position suits a hands-on, detail-driven accountant with strong motor retail experience and the ability to partner closely with operational leaders to drive performance.

Key Responsibilities

\n

Financial Reporting & Control

\n
    \n
  • Produce accurate monthly management accounts for the dealership, including P&L, balance sheet, cashflow and KPI packs.
  • \n
  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly financial reconciliations, ensuring all control accounts are fully balanced.
  • \n
  • Maintain strong balance sheet integrity, including stock, debtors, creditors, WIP, accruals and prepayments.
  • \n
  • Oversee manufacturer composite submissions, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
  • \n
  • Manage VAT returns, HMRC compliance, and statutory reporting requirements.
  • \n

Operational & Commercial Support

  • Partner with the Dealership Director, Sales Manager and Aftersales Manager to analyse performance, margins, labour recovery, and departmental profitability.
  • \n
  • Provide insight on vehicle margins, bonuses, holdbacks, aged stock, and used car performance.
  • \n
  • Monitor and report on service department KPIs, including hours sold, efficiency, productivity, and recovery rates.
  • \n
  • Support forecasting, budgeting and financial planning cycles.
  • \n

Transactional Finance Oversight

  • Work closely with Transactional finance teams within the SSC, ensuring accurate processing of purchase ledger, sales ledger, cashbook and banking.
  • \n
  • Oversee vehicle invoicing, deal files, and compliance with FCA and manufacturer standards.
  • \n
  • Ensure timely processing of warranty claims, credit notes, and manufacturer payments.
  • \n
  • Manage dealership cashflow, banking, and credit control.
  • \n

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Maintain and optimise use of DMS systems (e.g., Kerridge/Keyloop, Pinnacle, CDK).
  • \n
  • Strengthen internal controls, streamline processes, and improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
  • \n
  • Support digitalisation and automation initiatives across the finance function.
  • \n

Experience & Qualifications

\n
    \n
  • Part-qualified or qualified AAT / ACCA / CIMA (or QBE with equivalent experience within motor retail).
  • \n
  • Proven experience as a Dealership Accountant, Assistant Accountant, or Management Accountant within the automotive sector.
  • \n
  • Strong understanding of manufacturer composites, dealership KPIs, and motor retail financial processes.
  • \n
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with major DMS platforms.
  • \n
  • Strong analytical capability with the confidence to challenge and influence stakeholders.
  • \n
