The Role

\n

This is a commercially focused procurement role responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services across a multi-site operation.

\n

You’ll play a key role in delivering cost savings, improving supplier performance, and driving procurement best practice across both regional and site-level operations. The position offers strong exposure to operational stakeholders and the opportunity to influence strategic sourcing decisions in a complex, asset-intensive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and procure goods, materials, and services in line with business requirements.
  • \n
  • Manage the full purchase order lifecycle, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  • \n
  • Partner with operational teams to manage demand planning and stock availability.
  • \n
  • Lead sourcing activities including RFx processes, supplier evaluation, negotiation, and contract award.
  • \n
  • Manage spend across OPEX, consumables, services, and selected CapEx & MRO categories.
  • \n
  • Support supplier consolidation and regional tendering initiatives.
  • \n
  • Work closely with site teams to optimise inventory levels and reduce excess stock.
  • \n
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across multiple operational sites.
  • \n
  • Improve contract compliance and reduce off-contract spend.
  • \n
  • Monitor supplier performance and manage ongoing commercial relationships.
  • \n
  • Use data and analytics to support decision-making and drive procurement performance.
  • \n
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and governance frameworks.
  • \n
  • Track and report on savings, spend under management, and key procurement KPIs.

About You

\n
    \n
  • 4–8 years’ experience in procurement or strategic sourcing roles
  • \n
  • Experience within waste management, recycling, utilities, logistics, manufacturing, or other heavy industries with heavy machinery and MRO categories is highly desirable
  • \n
  • Proven track record of delivering measurable cost savings
  • \n
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • \n
  • Confident working in multi-site, decentralised environments
  • \n
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • \n
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • \n
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent experience); CIPS (or equivalent) desirable
  • \n
